Trade Update

Rangers have acquired forward Mika Zibanejad and a 2nd round pick in 2018 from Ottawa in exchange for Derick Brassard and a 7th round pick in 2018.
I believe this is actually a very good trade for New York. I can see that for many fans, it’s heartbreaking to see Brassard, a fan favorite and big piece of the team over the last few seasons, get dealt away, but Zibanejad is 23 years old, 5 years younger than Brassard, and is producing almost as much. If he continues to grow as a player, he will be better than Brassard at 28 years old. The Rangers also get cap space to re-sign Kreider and Miller, and they swap a 7th round pick for a 2nd.
