This is what the playoff picture is looking like; Winnipeg, Calgary, and Detroit have all clinched a spot, leaving LA as the first team since the Carolina Hurricanes to win the Cup and miss the playoffs the next season. Detroit has now clinched a spot for the 24th year in a row, the longest streak in sports. The only thing that can change is Boston making their way in and either Ottawa or Pittsburgh missing it. For that to happen, Boston needs to win their final game and hope either Ottawa loses their last one or Pittsburgh loses both of their final games. What a run Ottawa has made, coming back from 14 points down to 2 points in with their new coach. It reminds me of the Hurricanes’ run in 2009, climbing their way back from a bad start to make the playoffs with a coaching change mid-season.
