Trouba Crashes

During last night’s game between the Blues and Jets, 19-year-old rookie defenseman, Jacob Trouba, missed a check and crashed into the boards head first. It was a scary moment to watch, as he laid still on the ice for a couple minutes. It looked like there was a possibility of a broken neck from the replay, and leaving the ice on a stretcher. As he was carried off, though, he gave a thumbs up to the crowd. He spent a short time Friday night in the hospital, being released after x-rays were taken. The injury was described as a neck strain, and he’ll be wearing a neck brace for two weeks. He stood smiling this morning, answering several minutes of questions from reporters, also tweeting this:

Nice to see he has a sense of humor with all this. There is no time frame for his absence, but it could well be a month.
