San Jose Sharks 2013-14

The San Jose Sharks ended 6th in the Western Conference last season, losing to the Kings in the 2nd round of the playoffs. They had a very quiet offseason, and I’m not sure how they’ll do this season.

Their defense is one of the best in the league, allowing only 116 goals last season, so yes it was a smart move to leave that alone. Antii Niemi I think will be the key player to watch, though. He did have a great season, and deserves credit for the low number of goals against. The offense may be a sketchy area, unless it’s better than what it was on paper with 124 goals for. The management didn’t seem to think they needed much improvement there, either, as the only acquisition they made was trading for Tyler Kennedy to bring in solid depth for the bottom 6.

So well’ll see how their season goes; it could go either way in my opinion.
