What I thought was going to be a great season for the Stars ended up being another disappointment. They were in the race for the postseason until the final week where they ended 7 points behind. Since 2008, they can’t seem to win games when they really need to.
What an offseason they had, though! They made great moves, grabbing Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley from Boston. As Boston benefited from the trade by signing Iginla in free agency, Dallas benefited by also acquiring Shawn Horcoff from Edmonton; one big trade wasn’t enough for this new general manager. Even though I believe Eriksson ranks above Seguin at the moment, I think the tables will turn in the near future.
They drafted Nischukin 10th overall, the best Russian in the draft, which was also a great move.
I’m not sure how they’ll end up yet this season; they will be very good in the next few seasons, though.
