The New York Rangers ended at the top of the Eastern Conference last season. They finished with a 51-24-7 record, with pretty good offense at 226 goals-for and great defense at 187 goals-against. They have successful off-season.
The Rangers signed 3 checking line forwards in Arron Asham, Jeff Halpern, and definitely Taylor Pyatt (6′ 4” and 235 lb). They lost Ruslan Fedotenko, Brandon Prust, John Mitchell, and John Scott. Scott was the biggest loss; uses 6′ 8” player at 270 lb. The rest are good players, but not huge losses by any means.
The biggest addition, though, was Rick Nash, off a trade with Columbus, only losing Anisimov and Dubinsky. I think the addition of Nash, a great point score, will make them a better team than last season.
I believe they will be 1st in their conference again, and have a good run in the playoffs.
